ISCA Demands Special Legislation in the Parliament to Prevent Continuous Deaths on the Streets

Every year people are losing their lives in road accidents there in Bangladesh. In last decade, approximately 5 thousand 8 hundred 67 road accidents occurred only in the capital city Dhaka. The number of deaths in that accident is 2 thousand 6 hundred 18. Some of the main reasons for this road accidents are: unfitness car in the country, unlicensed drivers, inefficient traffic police etc. There is no proper use of road law anywhere in the country.

The central president of the Islami Shasantantra Chhatra Andolan (Students Movement for Islamic Constitution) Sheikh Fazlul Karim Maruf and Secretary General M. Hasibul Islam said that in a joint statement released on Wednesday (1 August’18).

In the statement they also said, “death and blood seemed much easier than anything to some present ministers and MPs. So, the tragic death of school students in road accidents makes them lough. The leaders demand resignation of state minister for Shipping Mr. Shahjahan Khan because of his shameless behavior and insincere comment on road accident. The Government has to take all the responsibilities of the miscreants and the injured students. And has to ensure the exemplary punishment for liable person in road death.

They also declared a ‘Human Chain’ program in protest of continued killing on the road and attacking on innocent students who brought the procession for road safety. They urged students to participate in human chain in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka at 3pm tomorrow.
